Who We Are
Shield of Hope Counseling is a faith-based, trauma-informed counseling practice. We have physical locations in Covington, Louisiana and Birmingham, Alabama and offer virtual counseling throughout the states of Louisiana and Alabama.
As a faith-based practice, Shield of Hope prioritizes integrating the Christian faith into the counseling space. The Christian faith informs our decisions and approach with each client. Each counselor at Shield of Hope Counseling has trauma-informed training, which impacts how we view and treat the people that we serve.

Hi, I’m Ellen!
I began Shield of Hope Counseling from a desire to serve with integrity. I desire to see the people in my community and beyond released from the challenges of mental health, which I believe does not happen apart from hope in God. I also desire to see a healthy place for counselors to work and thrive in the calling God has placed on their lives.
It is an honor for me to lead this amazing group of Christian counselors and serve other counselors and colleagues as we provide billing services. We look forward to serving with you!
